r.d.i ~ Leadership Consultants
Passionate about helping leaders to be purposeful and inspirationalr.d.i is a firm of occupational and organisational psychologists that specialises in advising senior executives of companies about all issues to do with leadership ~ that is, providing a sense of purpose and inspiration that will contribute to sustainable growth and profitability. Our consultants work with individuals and senior teams and conduct engagement research across the whole organisation. Our view is that leaders’ focus should be on creating and maintaining an environment in which everyone can flourish and, therefore, much of our consulting relates to the skills and styles of senior individuals and senior teams. We have considerable experience of working closely with Boards and Executive Management Teams on working effectively together, developing and communicating strategies that are congruent with a longer-term vision or goal, understanding what they need to do individually and as a group, to be more effective as business leaders rather than just business managers. To help those senior executives to better understand the impact of their leadership on the whole organisation, we also use a range of methods ~ engagement surveys, 360° surveys, psychometrics, organisational values surveys, focus groups and telephone interviews ~ to generate actionable, contemporary data to work with. The firm’s name stems from our approach to business development. We believe that to genuinely address the issues and create a long-lasting impact on a business requires effective research, innovative development and influential implementation.

Gordon Brown ~ surrounded by his coterie
There has been much criticism in the press recently about Gordon Brown's 'comfort' in surrounding himself with a small coterie of trusted advisors. Strangely, in the business world, this approach is what we often advocate; get together a small group who share the same vision, the same distant goal, the same determination to make it happen and grow it out from them. The fundamental requirement is 'shared vision', which is possibly even harder to define in politics than it is in business!
